"OK,I have a mint copy of said 'Virgo Red' album(on vinyl, nonetheless),and that cover ain't the legend,OK? While both are bonafide stone cold classics, the pic in question is none other than the legendary, late, great,Mr.'Mystic Magic' Grover Washington,Jr.,alright? So,are you all that flooded w/business,that you're not taking the time out to research the artist for sheer accuracy,or what? Hey,if you need a fact finder,I'm available for work, asap, see? I seemed to have discovered yet another error with the best of Tom Browne album cover, which featured a guy who resembled funk/soul great,Mr. Steve Arrington(check my review of that for further proof)? Actually,I got caught Mr. Ayers, for the second time, last saturday, and he was magnificent,as always(even though the backing band left something to be desired,oh well). The 'Virgo Red' album is just so 1973,yet it could have came out today,or it could be released in the future,as it has all the hallmarks of a future jazz fusion classic, indeed. The main reason that I got it is for the searing cover of the classic 'Brother Louie' by boogie-funk/glam rockers,Stories. Anybody from that era will remember that song,as it was huge at the time. I was five years old at the time, and I can remember vividly jamming with the am transistor radio, putting it up to my ear,in total bliss, the song seemed to be their only big hit,but what a hit it was, truly? Fans of both Stories/Roy Ayers need to pick up both, just to have them, for they are both quite stellar, for sure. I really meant to bring my album jacket to the gig for Mr. Ayers to sign, but didn't,fearing that I wouldn't able to get close to him,but I was so wrong. The man is so accessible to his fans,it was quite unbelievable. I actually was in reaching distance of him, trying to get a free live cd,that he personally gave out himself, what a class act! I didn't get one though, but we did have eye to eye contact,so it was a special moment, indeed. My mum's boyfriend ended up giving me his copy,so I walked away grinning from ear to ear, don't you know? Roy is considered 'old school' in the states, but overseas,he is the toast of the town,in style, hip, happening, and in demand. BBE has released vault material, which is over 30 years old, revamped, remixed, remastered(none of which ever got a domestic release, unfortunately). The creme de la creme of remixers dujour have added their immense talents to the project, all of which are highly sought after, and incredibly expensive? But if you can score them, please do,as they are more than worth their weight in gold, seriously? Actually,I need to hunt them down as well,if I just could find the right source...

Happy Hunting!

Cheers!
