Eclectic and not so charming

"FEMININE CHARMS from Canadian DIRECT SOURCE is a sub-par collection primarily due to source material and processing. Six old blues and jazz sides get counterbalanced by a few more modern tracks of differing genres.
"Trouble Trouble" is an LP transfer (replete with surface pops) of early Dinah Washington.
"The Nearness Of You" is badly marred by deep scratches.
"God Bless The Child" is tinny, scratched and warbly. Awful.
"Love And Kisses" (early Ella) sounds clearer but has some scratchiness.
"I Can't Stand By" has the best fidelity on this CD-- but is mediocre, and sounds out of place here.
"I Know (You Don't Love Me No More)" has slight lathe distortion.
"Teddy Bear Song" sounds OK but being country, is more out of place than the Gladys Knight track.
"Something's Got A Hold On Me" is Ray Charles-styled gospel/R&B. OK.
"He's Funny That Way" is heavily filtered and has bizarre echo added. Yuck.
"Rock It For Me" is a swinging but crackly 78.
Not worth buying.
