ULTIMATE PARTY MEGAMIX BOX (3 CDs)

This unusual 3-disc import set collects a variety of
"medley" recordings from the 1980s and 90s. Probably the
most recognizable "artists" involved are Stars on 45 and
Jive Bunny. There are also Billboard-charted medleys of
60s hits ("Back to the 60s" by Tight Fit, Hot 100 #89, 1981)
and Four Seasons hits ("Seasons of Gold" by Gidea Park,
Hot 100 #82, 1982).

Five of the included medleys are credited to Stars on 45,
the Dutch session players who achieved a USA #1 1981 hit
with their seamless blend of "Venus"/"Sugar, Sugar"
and a bunch of Beatles songs. That big hit is NOT
among the tracks offered here. (The "Beatles Medley" on
Disc 1 includes the Beatles songs that were on the USA hit,
plus some others, minus "Venus"/"Sugar, Sugar").
Trivia note: When Stars on 45 hit #1 in Billboard, it
replaced Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes" which had been
at #1 for five weeks. After just one week
at #1, though, Stars on 45 relinquished the top spot
BACK to Ms. Carnes, who then held it for four MORE weeks
with B.D. Eyes.

Jive Bunny & The Mixmasters was a UK novelty act who
scored three British #1 hits in 1989, including "Swing the Mood"
and "That's What I Like," which ARE included on this set.

And there's a decided UK flavor to much of the content.
Medleys of hits by Gary Glitter, T Rex, Mungo Jerry, Imagination,
The Sweet, and Bay City Rollers!

CAUTION: In their wisdom (?), the compilers of this set decided to
present the selections in non-stop, segued sequence. In some cases,
a bit of crossfade means that the final notes of one medley are
laid over the beginning notes of the next medley. This is fine if
you are listening to the set straight through. But if you want to
isolate individual tracks, you may find that the beginning of the
track you want includes fading-out notes from the previous cut.

DISC TWO

UK MIX MASTERS -- Nite Fever Megamix (Night Fever/Jive Talking/
Staying Alive/You Should Be Dancing/Disco Inferno)

RIGHT SAID FRED -- Don't Talk, Just Kiss (No idea why this is on
here, as it's not a medley at all. It is the second single released
by the British trio, a follow-up to their smash "I'm Too Sexy" (1991).
It reached #3 in the UK but only #76 on the Billboard Hot 100).

CLUB LATINO -- Lambada (Somewhat generic version, accordion and all,
probably from early 90s. 6:21 in length).

JIVE BUNNY -- Hot Summer Salsa Medley (The JB Groove/Everybody Salsa/
Ay Ay Ay Ay Moosey/La Bamba/Hot Hot Hot/Best Years of Our Lives)

IMAGINATION -- Imagination Megamix (Music and Lights/Just An Illusion/

In The Street/It Takes Two/This Old Heart Of Mine/I Can't Help Myself/

Needle In A Haystack/He Was Really Saying Somethin'/Heatwave/
Stop Her On Sight)

MIKE BERRY -- Buddy Holly Medley (This is the 6-minute stereo version)
(That'll Be The Day/It's So Easy/Maybe Baby/Everyday/Heartbeat/Peggy Sue/
That'll Be The Day)

DAMIAN -- The Time Warp (Again, not a medley, just a "party" song, I guess.
Damian was a British musician. His rendition of the Rocky Horror classic
was a flop when first released in UK in 1987 and again when re-released
the following year. Finally, in 1989, a remixed version made it
to the Top 10 on the UK charts. Featured on this disc is the original
1987 version).

TRANSGLOBAL ZONE -- Mission: Impossible (Discofied and thankfully brief
1:30 version of the TV/movie theme).

STARS ON 45 -- Rolling Stones Medley Part 1 (Start Me Up/Sympathy For The
