CD Reviews

Another great mix of UK chart hits
patc71s | Stratford, CT USA | 05/16/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Another great CD in this series. The best songs on here include Suzi Quatro-Tear Me Apart, Frankie Miller-Be Good to Yourself, Dr. Feelgood-Sneakin' Suspicion, and The Saints-This Perfect Day (this song and Suzi's are my two favorites). The first 3 songs would fit right in on classic rock stations and it's a shame they weren't US hits. This Perfect Day is a classic punk song. Punk and music influenced by punk is well represented on this disc with the likes of The Saints, The Stranglers-(Get a)Grip (On Yourself), The Banned-Little Girl, and Tom Robinson Band-2-4-6-8 Motorway.

Racing Cars-They Shoot Horses, Don't They is a nice little mellow ditty. Mink DeVille-Spanish Stroll is a good tune also. Mink sounds very similar to Lou Reed.

Songs on here that were also Us chart hits include Kenny Rogers-Lucille, KC & the Sunshine Band-I'm Your Boogie Man, Al Stewart-Year of the Cat, Glen Campbell-Southern Nights, and Crystal Gayle-Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue. Deep Purple-Smoke on the Water was a US pop hit in 1973. The version on here is a live version. Minor US pop chart hits include Tavares-Whodunit and T Connection-Do What You Wanna Do.

And yes, the prerequisite Hot Chocolate song is on here. They are represented with So You Win Again."
