Party Album!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"At this point in time, the MTV Party To Go Series were essentially all hip-hop. The album has many of hits around the 1993-1994 music scene. The album opens with Tony Toni Tone's song Anniversary, which is mellower than many songs on the album. After the first song it matures to include hard hitting rap songs by Dr.Dre, Onyx and 2Pac, while also harboring the more mainstream appealing Boom Shake The Room by Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince (Now known as Will Smith) and Informer by Snow. Pretty quickly after that the album goes completely funky. K7 performs Come Baby Come which is an awesome song even if it's on the weird side. Of course it wouldn't be an MTV Party To Go if it didn't include some super classics, so we get Whoomp There It Is by the Tag Team and the famous What Is Love by Haddaway (Night at the Roxbury anyone?). Closing out the album is the CDs worst track, Weak by SWV, and one of my faves Knockin' Da Boots by H-Town. If you like collecting party CDs, this one needs to be in your collection. It's worth the money even now!"
