Inxs - Keep The Peace - Keeps This Album From Being Bad!
Nightwing | 12/10/2005
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Okay..so in this day and age if you buy a CD and have more then one good song on it, it is considered luck. Most soundtracks either contain BIG hits or just random songs. I think this soundtrack went for the latter. Did it work? Well they got some "interesting" songs.

I must give credit where credit is due. Hello Inxs. Their song "Keep The Peace" is not only a great song, it is one of the best Inxs songs I've ever heard. (And I keep up with them up till Michael Hutchence's death. JD from RockStar: Inxs isn't bad but he will never fill Hutch's shoes.) Anyways..this songs features Michael Hutchence's GREAT voice and killer style..This song makes this album a must for any real Inxs fan.

So beyond a great Inxs song, what does this soundtrack offer? Well It has the song "Right Thing, Wrong Way" which has very childish sounding background music. And the lyrics sound kind of silly..but it works. While the song is kind of predicatable, it works. It is a nice song.

Also the songs "The Place Where You Belong" and "Summer Jamming" have a very good summer vibe to them. Both could be played in the summer and would be fitting. It ties into the movie also - given the location. Beyond on that, the Diana Ross tune is worth mention.

Okay I think I just about covered it..oh yeah and it has that well known 'dodododododododod" Beverly Hills Cop theme music. This time it got changed up a bit by Niles Rodgers and Richard Hilton. And it was for the best! This newer sounding mix of the song - works VERY well. It sounds VERY hip. I can just hear Eddie Murphy's trademark laugh.

If only Beverly Hills Cop 4 would start production. Oh well, I suppose this music can hold me over till then."
