CD Reviews

Lovely chill-out selection!

"Minus 1 is an excellent collection of chill-out electronica. I'd never heard of most of the artists, but there were some greats I knew of that convinced me to buy it (Karmacoda, Under, Shine, Samantha James). Despite having so many artists on one album, most of the songs mesh well with each other, and have just the right soothing, lounge-esque feel. Great as they are, the tracks by Karmacoda and Shine are faster, louder and more involving than the rest, but they're still excellent songs and don't take away from the experience.

There's one track that does, though: And The Living Is Easy! by The Guts is a fun, quirky, off-the-wall song. It just doesn't belong on a chill-out album, especially this one. It's not relaxing, it's not electronica, and it doesn't fit with the laid-back vibe of the album.

As it stands, it's still great, but if you remove that track and move the Karmacoda and Shine songs to the end of the album, and you've got near-perfection."

"It always works !! On wine tours and long return airport transfers when I need to give my clients a chill pill , I'll give them a Fat Dose of Minus 1. The Below Zero Sunday Show keeps my Sunday Night Limo guess thoroughly entertained, this CD give me the Below Zero Vibe throughout the week.

"
i'm tickled that more solid satellite radio stations are coming to fruition & Below Zero is top on that list. even better, they have already brought us a great mixed compilation that does not disappoint! love the sweet, sexy sound of Samantha James, the reggae-groove from Guts & the Moby-like feel i get from Ladder that reminds me how much i like the view from an airplane when sitting just above the clouds....great cd!"
