CD Reviews

The Greatest Heavy Metal Album ever recorded
JP | Macon, GA | 01/06/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you were from the planet Mars and wanted to know what Heavy Metal music is I would give you this album.

Period.

(But get the version with extra tracks)

Also, thru the years I have heard rumors that Chapman is actually playing on most of this live recording, not Schenker (as well as the rumor that much of the album was studio overdubbed) but in a BBC interview years and years ago both Way & Moog SWORE that every track on Strangers was Schenker (purposely selected so) though they admitted Chapman was on a lot of the tour.

I also have a couple of live releases from the Chapman era (playing Schenker songs) and it's just not the same. The solos in particular seem to be lacking that "Schenker fire", which is readily apparent on Strangers. Another reason I believe it is him."
Great reissue but no bonus tracks
Benedict F. Loscalzo | New York | 04/05/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is a great reissue for the money. Most Mini LP cds cost around 30 bucks so for $[...] this is a bargain and is also one of my favorite live albums. Just dont expect any bonus tracks like the other versions of this cd."
