CD Reviews

Awesome songs

"I bought this to help homeschool my 5 year old granddaughter, thinking I'd buy a copy for her to take home if I liked it. I may, but I will make a special point to get one for her 10-year-old cousin - he'll love it! Some of the humor will be understood by younger children, but an older child will really appreciate it more.

I'd never heard most of these songs before, but they are set to familiar tunes, making them easy to learn. In looking for the lyrics online, I found that many are classics. As such, they are subject to modification:

On the CD

The Littlest Worm

The littlest worm, (everyone echo)

I ever saw (echo)

Was stuck inside (echo)

My soda straw (echo, etc)

(repeat verse)

He said to me

don't take a sip

for it you do

I'll surely flip

(repeat verse)

I took a sip

and he went down

right through my pipes

he surely drowned

(repeat verse)

He was my pal

he was my friend

but now he's gone

and thats the end

(repeat verse)

The moral of

this story is

Don't take a sip

of soda fizz.

(repeat verse)

**********************

Very similar lyrics were found online, with the following verse added after swallowing the worm:

I coughed him up

and he was dead

I buried him

in my counselors bed (or insert a name for counselors)

I coughed him up and he was dead, I buried him in my counselors bed

********

I think I'll call my grandson before he gets on the schoolbus and play a few songs for him. (I find myself humming "Road kill stew"...) Done - confirmed - meets the approval of 10 year old boys!

Oh - I'm glad the other reviewers wrote out the sound made on the rooster song - I'd substituted a much more offensive verb! But then, I'll bet those others would not own the Walter the Farting Dog book series either!"

"We bought this CD to put in my husband's car so our daughters (1 and 2) would have something to listen to in the car that wouldn't drive Dada nuts. These are hilarious! The rooster song is not bleeped, it's more of a "pfft!" sound, which is quite descriptive. It's lighthearted and fun, but if you're weirded out by gross stuff, you should probably not buy this."
Not appropriate for kids.

"i bought this for my 5 year old son, who of course thinks farts are the funniest thing. it was only 3 bucks at big lots. well, i listened to it with him and i couldn't believe the songs. one song is about a rooster that "bleeps" on the table & "bleeps" on the floor. While they do not say the curse word, it is actually bleeped out. Another is about a toad that goes onto the road and gets run over. another is about neighbors that die. it was disturbing. i thought it was going to be about bugs, worms, and other silly stuff. i do not suggest this for ANY kids."
