CD Reviews

One of the best CDs I own
Vincent Keating | Halifax, NS Canada | 11/03/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I first heard Tricycle on a Bravo! special back in 1999. Introduced as a fusion of classical and jazz, it is still to this day one of the more interesting concerts I've heard. I picked up this CD in 2002 after being reminded of the group, and am pleased to say that it is one of the most listened to recordings in my collection. I can't speak to the individual players or the style as I am a neophyte when it comes to jazz, but I appreciated both the musicality and the diversity of style exhibited on the album. Much of it is pretty 'down-tempo,' essentially great to have on if you're just chilling out or want something easy to listen to. This isn't to characterize the music as simple, as it is quite intricate and will reward the careful listener. Overall a great buy -- I would pick up a subsequent CD of theirs in a heartbeat if one is published."
