Synopsis

Album Description
Metal/Hardcore with techno effects. Totally out of control. "America has become a lawsuit nation of backstabing liars that take the easy way out and steal from each other. The youth mimic what they see on tv to become a page in history. The media covers the media in a big circle of controversy. The working class slave to make enough money to slow the debt that they already have. The old politicians pass laws that take more and more control and freedom out of the hands of the people that elected them in. Money has become a god. drugs have become god. Politicians have become god. There are too many gods. You have been programmed. What do you belive in, who do you trust, are you afraid ?" - too many gods

"Have you ever been in a situation where no matter where you turn, you feel the constant glare of surveillance surrounding you and everything you do? Have you ever done your best to fan the fires of discontent only to see the knives turn around and stab you in the back?

You realize you're trapped in a land where honorable people bear the burden their government earned them. Other powers that be had the chance to bring in an the era of content through persevering against ignorance and discrimination. Yet retaliation was mounted instead, which left the masses alienated and divided. You soon find that all growth is gone and the life you've once nurtured accelerated into decomposition.

When the dust clears and eyes are traded for eyes, do you finally realize you're left blind because you sold your soul to be part of the lottery?

(Sorry, I tried to do the review like how they described themselves.)

Too Many Gods were a nu-metal band with industrial & hardcore influences. In case you couldn't tell by the samples, they were largely unremarkable from any other nu-metal bands in the era. While they did their best to try to make it in the industry, the group was hounded by numerous lineup changes and plenty of drama from the scenes in which they were involved. On a long enough timeline, they couldn't get over the hurdles in front of them and decided to hang it up sometime in 2002 or 2003.

I'd recommend it for any of the people from or around Macomb County, Michigan that supported nu-metal (and you KNOW who you where so don't try to lie to yourself about it) who feel nostalgic for weekend nights at the Wired Frog while drinking Jones Soda and wearing your favorite Tool/Deftones t-shirt along with your chain wallet, ball-chain necklace, Adidas shoes, backwards baseball cap, and the pants with the 56" legs that you wouldn't be caught dead in today. If you're excluded from that group, this probably isn't up your alley."

"A great display of power. If you thought rock was dead guess again. The band from Detroit Rock City is all about kickin a**. This cd is a must have. Nothing else compares. For real these guys are the best thing to come from detroit in a long time. I have been listening to them for about a year and it is still one of my favorate cds. If you dont have it you are missing out. A sure hit with any metal fan. Thanks guys for keepin it real and look forward to the next album."
