I already have a review for the original album. I may or may not put that in here, I don't know. But the bonuses. 7 songs are on here are single only or unreleased completely. How can this be so? They are awesome! Love And Beauty, Long Summer Days, Leave This Man Alone, all awesome! And then there's the alternate versions. Twilight Time is my favorite Moody Blues song, but when it's paired with The Sun Set, it isn't as good. Here they have a different version of it (Not as good) without The Sun Set. The other alternates sound the same. The BBC sessions are great as well, including a flute cover of song made famous by The Animals, and a version of Twilight Time. That one's okay. Better than the alternate vocal, worse than the original, worse than the one on Days Of Future Passed Live. I haven't listened to the DVD, but I suspect it is pretty cool and sounds awesome. I'll also take a look at the performance on the DVD. Also it comes with a neat poster and an interesting booklet. Great album, great deluxe edition, etc.
UPDATE: Here's my original DOFP review. Enjoy!
Days Of Future Passed, The Moody Blues' second album. Or first, depends how you look at it. The public's favorite. My favorite. Many think it to be the first progressive rock album, fusing orchestra with electric guitar and lyrics. The first song is okay. The second is very good. The third, even better. The fourth, I like. I think I like it more than the first, but less than the two before it. The first half is no match for the last three. Tuesday Afternoon is very nice. Evening time to get away is pretty good as well. The Sunset is okay, but is no match for Twilight Time, my favorite Moody Blues song. (If you add The Sunset to it, it gets bumped down a few spots, however) Then there's Nights In White Satin, a magnificent closer to a magnificent album.
ANOTHER UPDATE:
I've watched the concert on the DVD and it was really nice! It's in black and white, but I like that.
