Synopsis

Album Description
The Lawnmowers take elements (and members) of some great Seattle bands to make music that continues to move up pop?s evolutionary ladder. Started by former members of Sister Psychic, Dodi, Sycophant, and Ottoman Bigwigs, the Lawnmowers are quickly gathering a following as dedicated as any of their previous bands enjoyed. The Lawnmowers? sound is influenced by a wide variety of pop, including the Pixies, Matthew Sweet, the Figgs, and Neil Young. The band effortlessly sounds familiar yet fresh, with catchy vocal hooks that stay in your head so long they seem like they?ve always been there. So, be careful when you play their new disc.

CD Reviews

Delightful music from Seattle
History reader | Seattle, WA United States | 10/02/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Hands down, I think this is the best band in Seattle these days. Great pop songs, tight playing, and entertaining sets (for those fortunate enough to see them live). If you can't see them live, and even if you can, buy the CD. You'll love it. My favorite track: Buzz."
Why won't Fairuza Balk return any of Andy Davenhall's calls?

"Fairuza doesn't even know what it is to be a fan. Y'know? To truly love some silly little piece of music, or some band, so much that it hurts."
