Synopsis

Product Description
First conceived in Holland in 2006, The Devil's Blood hark back to the days of the earliest 70s Heavy Metal, liberally dosed with the darker side of late 60s psychedelia, and dark Folk/occult type stuff. "The Time Of No Time Evermore" is their highly anticipated debut full length, following up the underground smash ep, "Come Reap" from 2008. Epic stuff, virtually unclassifiable, firmly rooted in the old fields with eyes transfixed on tomorrow. A visionary blend of Hard/Psych/Acid and even Art Rock, dripping with obsessively detailed satanic ritual. This is The Time Of No Time Evermore.

CD Reviews

Weird devilish psych/metal
Fernando Benítez V | Mexico City, Mexico | 06/28/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"First time i heard it, the vocals put me off, as well as what i thought was a somewhat mediocre drum work. Plus, I was expecting more sludgy 70's worship a la Blood Ceremony or Cathedral, since that's just what a certain review I read said. So i let it rest for a few days. Then, just last night, after a couple o' puffs, I decided to check it out again, and, wow, brother, was I stoked and moved and surprised. These guys and gal have worked their voodoo on me... This is a truly weird and unique band, and i wonder if we're talking 'bout accomplished kids or seasoned veterans. First thing you gotta keep in mind is that it's actually quite melodic, sometimes even 'soft' metal, but with class and a certain, uncanny dark feel. Since i love comparisons and want to shut the computer off in a few minutes, i'll just let you know that this is like a psychdelic Witchfinder General or King Diamond, but with a better singer (sorry, King, had to get that off my chest). In other words, you'll get a lot of harmonized guitars, a la Maiden, but with the classic Thin Lizzy flavor. Lots of songs sound like mid to late 70's Scorpions, which is great. A bit of Farewell to Kings-era Rush, too. Strucures are somewhat weird, like a jazzier Priest, if you can picture that. I'm just glad bands like this are beginning to sprout and flourish from what we old folk used to call 'the underground', i.e., from out of nowhere, or maybe from under a rock. i think this is very healthy for modern metal, which has become a vast wasteland of inane black/viking clichés (black metal is the glamrock of the 21st century) and super-tough grind macho poser bands. Passionate, magical, haunting. Or could it be that the subliminal messages of this occult ouvre have worked their way into my tired unconscious?!! The devil is in the details!"
