CD Reviews

Myrick's trio, pumps out country/rock/blues RoadHouse Style!
06/12/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've followed Gary Myrick's career begining in 1980 with "She Talks in Stereo" an Early 80's standard. Next came "Living in a Movie", then the Hits "Guitar,Talk,Love, and Drums", "The Message is You" and "Time to Win" off Myrick's 1983 EP "Language". Gary was at the top of his game, with Explosive live shows and a loyal following. He slowed down while working with John Waite collaborating on the "Missing You" single and album. Myrick returned with 1986's "I Stand for Love" featuring the Hits "This Record is Broken",the Haunting "I was a Painted Picture" and MTV favorite "When Angels Kiss". It was Myrick at his best and still very little radio air play to support his music Gary went back to Austin, TX to recharge. During this time he hooked up with Paul Siminon of the "Clash", together they put together" Havana 3AM". With moderate Air Play of the single "Reach the Rock" became a collage radio favorite! They disbanded and Myrick put togrther "Texas Glitter & Tombstone Tales". His 3 piece outfit pump out some the best rock/country/blues tunes I've heard in years! Give it a spin, It's awsome amigo!"
Gary Myrick continues to "rock the house"

"I, too, am an avid Gary Myrick fan of the early '80's and beyond. I was presented with the chance to see him at an intimate club in Dallas several years ago called the "Redux". It was a show I still remember to this day,(and still have the ticket stub). This new CD just proves that what was great then, is still great today!"
