Neglected Gem

"Of all the Temirkanov recordings, this one may have the best sound quality and "air" (well, it's by Chandos!). It's a live recording, by the way. Besides the usual musicality Temirkanov presents, the depth and definition of the sound image is so vivid and striking. The orchestra also does a wonderful job. I'm surprised that no one has written a review till this point. There aren't adquate words to describe touching and beartiful musical performances. Just buy it and listen to it. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!"

"This is just to second the rave review already listed. It's a shame that Temirkanov's regime with the Baltimore Sym., which lasted five years and is jsut ending, attracted almsot no notice in the musical press. He is a genuinely great conductor, and if you think you never want to hear The Nutcracker again, wait until you hear the transformation accomplished on this disc by Temirkanov--marvelous!"
