The Dance Anthem Of 2001....
rpeppin | Edmonton, AB, Canada Canada | 03/27/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"After 2 long months of anticipation, Elecktra Records have finally decided to issue a maxi single for this amazing song and boy oh boy what a maxi single this is. Strictly on airplay alone this song quickly made it to the top 10 on The R&B Billboard charts and soon after it spent 2 weeks #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts. The Maxi CD single contains all the remixes that were available on the 12" Vinyl Record as well as the music video.Stranger in My House [CD Maxi] (2001) Catalog #671801. Thunderpuss Club Mix 2. Album Version 3. HQ2 Club Mix 4. Maurice's Club Anthem 5. So So Def Remix 6. Thunderpuss Radio Version 7. HQ2 Radio Mix 8. Maurice's Club Radio Mix 9. HQ2 Club Mix Acapella 10. *Bonus* Stranger In My House VideoAlbum Version - An amazing sultry R&B ballad that only master producer Shep Crawford could create. He is the same man responsible for the R&B anthem by Deborah Cox "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" Tamia's vocals are well nourished in this song displaying the soul/sensual vocal powers of Whitney Houston with a range like Mariah Carey. So So Def Remix Featuring. Jermaine Dupri - A totally new version of this song! Tamia stepped back in the studio with Super Producer Extrodinare Jermaine Dupri churning this Ballad into a thumpin Hip Hop version!Thunderpuss Club Mix - Well this was the mix that made the song #1 on the dance charts. It is quite different from the typical Tribal/House beats Thunderpuss usually infuse into their mixes. Instead they inject this track with a killer NYC late night trance sound. This mix is definately the highlight of the maxi single, and the one that you are hearing all over the place.HQ2 Club Mix - A typical Boom Boom, Thump, Thump sound you are used to hearing from Hex Hector & Mac Quayle. This mix was one of the first mixes completed for this song and introduced Tamia to circuit city. It sounds similar to the remix Hex & Mac did for Whitney's "I Learned From The Best" so you know it's hot!Maurice's Club Anthem - This man is the king of House/Retro. He is the one responsible for all of Destiny's Child dance mixes. This is a very different change however from his usual work. Backing away from his Disco/Retro sounds he uses a sound that is almost similar to the old Thunderpuss beats. Think of the "Digital Black N Groove Mix" he did for DC's "Bills, Bills, Bills"Overall this CD is worth every penny is probably one of the hottest dance songs of 2001."

"im a big fan of club songs, and this cd has it. it has remixes from 2 big club making song producers HQ2 and thunderpuss. it also has a r&b remix produced by jermaine dupri in which tamia sings the song over again with a different style. it also has remixes from other clubsters. its definetly a must have."
Not A Stranger Anymore

"This one of the best R&B ballads to show up this year. Tamia's smooth voice transforms what could be a simple love tune into a smoking emotional ballad. A song about a relationship that is drifting apart, this also has the on fire video, and a catchy upbeat album track called "Un'h...To You". If you like this single, check out the maxi-single, which has mixes that transform this from a slow groove to a full dance anthem."
