Independent label Smokehouse Records began operation in 1995 and is dedicated to bringing original music of southern Ohio to the global market. We released the first of two CD?s by Americana artists Electric Range in 1996 and their follow-up in 1998(both available from Amazon.com). The year 2000 will see a new CD from Cincinnati?s retro-groove Rockers TV Yellow, entitled ?Reduction?(August release), and an exhilarating Contemporary Christian Pop/Rock project from EXPEDITION, ?Journey to a Whole New World?(September release). We have in production two projects from Electric Range members; vocalist/songwriter John Alden (Americana/Folk) and ER guitarist extraordinaire Billy Darnell (Rock/Eclectic). We take great pride in producing quality material that first and foremost features strong songwriting. We are particularly happy about the TV Yellow CD, produced by Gary King of Refraze Studios and Smokehouse?s own Kevin Gwin. This album possesses immense commercial potential and we will be working vigorously to get this project to the masses it so richly deserves.
