CD Reviews

T.I. GREAT, horrible screwing from Paul Wall
Robert Miller | Louis., KY | 02/10/2005
(1 out of 5 stars)

"First off this review has nothing to do with T.I. He did his thing, making a great cd. Paul Wall cannot screw or chop very well. Paul Wall doesn't use great techniques, or even good ones. There is really no chopping during the entire cd. When Micheal Watts does the cd, I will write the best review. Do Not buy this, you will be dissapointed."
SIP SUM SIZZURP TO DIS...

"I'm not much of a fan of "Chopped or Screwed" or "Slowed Down" aka Texas liquid morphine music. Thats what I believe is the best description of it...musical morphine. I'm from NY but in TX and alot of the South this ish is HUGE! Crunk and the like already took over nationally, but screwed music is still an underground thang. DJ Screw is the undeniable OG of Chopped n Screwed music, i mean damn the thang is NAMED after him! The now deceased Texas DJ one day decided, after some inspiration from cough syrup, valium and the like, hey I'mma slowwwwwww dis .Again I'm not big on this ish but the screwed version of "Urban Legend" not only outshines the unscrewed version...it might be the best chopped n screwed I done heard! I can't lie dat boy T.I. is killin it at the moment and not for nothing but so is Paul Wall. T.I. on the lyrics and Paul Wall on the production. If you a virgin to this type of music this is the bible, a great place to start! I favor it to anything else being chopped n screwed at the moment, Paul Wall is paying a good tribute to Screw by putting out quality remixes of this calibar. Employing the south's illest spitters at the moment, with that TX liquid morphine is just right! There are quite a few artists starting to capitilize on chopped n screwed namely Mike Jones, but "Urban Legend" sounds as good as any you gonna hear. What I'd like to see is more "screwing" of NY artists...so far I've only heard a handful of 50, Jay and Nas tracks given the morphine treatment...it'd be nice to see some screwed Wu Tang, Beastie Boys, Mobb Deep, Pun, Beatnuts, KRS 1, Redman or anybody who hasn't yet had the distinction of being "screwed!""
