CD Reviews

BUY only for OFFER NISSIM and PETER BAILEY mixes
DEX | Poland | 02/07/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Again a star 69 release and the tracks seem too loud... A bit too much bass but you can always normalize them in some WAV editor. It's funny but Offer Nissim's mixes never use too much bass although they are very loud.

Her best CDSINGLE after HOME CDS for sure! Keep The Faith was terrible (it never hit the US Club Play chart? - no wonder), even Offer failed there, same with Fascinated CDS.

This is what i was looking for. Epic mixes by Offer And Bailey. Info:

1. David Morales - Full vocals as mentioned, more progressive than agressive, too long though, gets boring, not a gem ***

2. The Cube Guys - the best full vocal mix on CDS but not really what you are looking for on this CDS ****

3. Offer Nissim - very dubby and a GEM for sure. I'm 100% sure this will be the most popular in the clubs. All this ENERGY!!! Not dramatic like most Offer's mixes *****

4. Peter Bailey - also dubby, no full vocals here but the sound is TWISTED!!! That's the only word i can think about - very addictive. Great mix! Second fav on this CDS *****

5. Jose Spinnin' Cortez - a vocal mix, vocals sound a bit quiet though. The mix seems too long for me. I get bored before the end. I'm not a fan of Jose i'm afraid. Decent mix ***

6. Alyson Calagna & Thomas Penton - not really Tribal, more like Progressive House/Electro DUB, worst mix on the CDS **

You can hear the samples/buy the tracks on Beatport ^^ It may be cheaper to buy the CDS though. You decide."
8th single for Dance Diva from her Home cd.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is the 8th single issued (some before and some after the release) from her first cd Home on Star 69 dance label. Once again Suzanne Palmer works with one of the best dance music producers on her single "Free My Love"-- this time David Morales. This single follows her last single "Keep The Faith" which for I have no clue never hit the US Club Play chart. The new cd single come with 6 really solid club mixes-- 3 vocals and 3 dub vocal mixes. The original version by David Morales was written by him with Lea-Lorien and Steven Barkan and is still miles better than most of what hits the US dance charts. Here is what is on the cd single:

Free My Love:

1- David Morales Remix (10:31)- much more aggressive than most Morales mixes. It sort of layers Suzanne's voice to an almost Kristine W type effect. Excellent.Full vocals.

2- The Cube Guys Remix (8:28)- to me the most Suzanne of the mixes. It has full vocals and they are brought front and center in this mix. Very aggressive in the beats and very much like her "Sound Of The Drum" mix- TRIBAL .

3- Offer Nissim Remix (8:40)- a very VERY percussive dub mix. Little bits of the vocals are scattered through out the mix. I assume the one most DJ's will play but for me a dub is a dub and Offer has mixed other songs with full vocals so great mix but needed the FULL vocals on this mix.

4- Peter Bailey Remix (8:27)-- another tribalesque mix. DUB mix but yet very good. Peter Bailey did the original mix for "Sound Of The Drum" so I know he could have put full vocals on here.

5- Jose Spinnin Cortez Remix (8:44)- the most mainstream house mix here . I have never heard of Mr. Cortez before this mix but he does a really great FULL vocal mix for the song.

6- Alyson Calagna & Thomas Penton Remix (8:28)- another loopy-tribal DUB mix. Not that bad but the first 5 are so much better.

Another winner for Star 69 and Diva Suzanne Palmer. Hopefully it will chart for her this time. A++ for the Cube Guys, Jose Cortez and Morales vocal mixes."
