CD Reviews

Phenomenal!

"I've owned the CBS/Mastersound 24k gold cd of Couldn't Stand The Weather for several years and it was a HUGE improvement over the original cd. I let an audio salesman buddy of mine borrow my copy and that was responsible for 7 or 8 other sales of the 24k gold version. The remaster with the extra tracks that came out a few years later was a nice improvement over the original cd but still not quite as good as the CBS/Mastersound gold cd. I have to say that the SACD blows them all out of the water! The sound quality of this SACD is nothing short of incredible. On "Tin Pan Alley" you can really hear the "air" of the studio, the echo of the snare cracks is so realistic that if you turn up the volume and close your eyes it almost sounds like you're there in the room. Vic Anesini did an incredible job remastering this disc and it should be used an example for nearly all other mastering engineers on how to properly do remastering work. Vic has also done some Elvis cd remasters that are top notch too. If you love this album and have an SACD player do not hesitate buying this SACD, it is just awesome!"

"Apart from being a magnificent guitar player, this album really shows how it should be done.

Especially on high-end systems, you can enjoy the fast in your face riffs.

Although an old recording, the remastering was done to obtain uptimum quality & dynamics. Contrary to modern master 'techniques' where everything is flat, this one clearly brings out the wonders of SACD.

It's like having Stevie perfrom LIVE in your living room.
