An Outstanding Musical
Meredith Burton | Lynchburg, Tennessee | 05/29/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I saw the production, "Children of Eden," at a theater in my community, and thoroughly enjoyed it. That is why I was so thrilled to find a copy of the music, which was so enlightening and fun! All of the singers do an exceptional job of conveying the emotions of the characters they portray, particularly William Solo, who played God, called, primarily "Father" in the production. Kellie Rebkh does a superb job as Yona, who was, according to the play, the servant of Noah and his wife, and who became the wife of Japheth, one of Noah's sons. All of the songs are outstanding, and whoever was responsible for writing the lyrics for the musical deserves lavish praise! They truly conveyed the emotions and life lessons that can be gleaned from such a superb play very well. "In Pursuit of Excellence," though sung by the Serpent shows the views of those who throw caution to the wind and go to any lengths to get what they want, even if it means decieving others, and disobeying commands. "The Spark of Creation," sung by Eve, shows a hidden desire in everyone's heart to rebel and go out on their own. "A World Without You," illustrates the agonny of having to make choices, and there are many more outstanding songs that are both enjoyable to hear and thoughtprovoking at the same time. The message of this production is timeless: you have the power to choose between good or evil, and, as "The Father" says, "There is no journey gones so far, so far that you can't stop and ask directions. No doom is written in the stars, it's in your hands." The chorus says, "our hands can choose to drop the knife, our hearts can choose to stop the hating. We pray we're wiser than we were, IN THE BEGINNING!" A true intertaining gem, and an absolute must-hear!! Happy listening, and God bless!!"
