CD Reviews

Finally this cult B'way Musical is on CD for all to enjoy!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I strongly urge all who fondly remembered "Starmites" during its ill-fated yet Tony- nominated Broadway run to buy this CD. With a charming & witty score by Barry Keating, "Starmites" tells the lively story of a girl who loves science-fiction comic books and gets swept away into "Innerspace", where she meets all sort of Good guys (the "Starmites") and Bad guys (the wild Diva and her evil Banshees). You get to hear a young Liz Larsen, (most recently in "A New Brain") Gabriel Barre, Victor Trent Cook (currently in "Smokey Joe's Cafe"), Gwen Stewart (currently in "Rent"), Mary Kate Law (currently in "The Sound of Music") and many other talented performers. Good triumphs over evil with brilliant vocal arrangements. A must for any musical theater buff."
Science Fiction meets Off-Broadway!

"Science Fiction meets Off-Broadway in a fantastic musical that will keep every theater-goer entertained. Every song will stick with you, and some may even inspire you. Starmites is unique because it's about a topic that not many musicals touch upon- outerspace (or Innerspace, as the case may be). Gwen Stewart is amazing as the Diva. Standout songs include "Reach Right Down", "Superhero Girl", "Diva!", "Milady", "It Wasn't A Dream", and "Immolation". See, there's just so much great music! Starmites is truly a gem, and Amazon.com is the only place I've seen it being sold. Get this CD, and you'll be glad you did. It's a unique story and a musical that you can fall in love with."
What A Joy!

"This is truly a cute show! The lyrics and songs maybe a bit simple at times, but the story is about a little girl and her comic book, so it fits very nicely. I will have to say that Barry Keating might be the next Menken/Ashmen! It's hard to summarize the story per just the recording, but the music is a mix between "Little Shop Of Horrors" and "Starlight Express". For people who buy cast recordings on a whim, this is one you will want to pick up!"
