CD Reviews

It's About This Rare Album Finally Came Out

"Stacy's 1985 album, "I'm Not The Same Girl" is such a great album (and a very hard-to-find one, too.) Stacy sounds so wonderful and the album consists of a few upbeat dance tracks, but the greatest part of the album is the ballads. (Stacy sounds SO GREAT on the ballads.) Here is my review on this wonderful album:

1.) Can't Stop Thinking About You: Cute, upbeat song. One of my favorite songs off the album.

2.) Coming Alive: Cool, upbeat song. Stacy sounds absolutely great.

3.) Now We're Starting Over Again: Ohh! This ballad is so beautiful and it was later covered by Natalie Cole.

4.) He's Just Not You: Another great slow song. Stacy's vocals blend perfectly with the beautiful piano music.

5.) I'm Not the Same Girl: One of my favorite songs off the album. Stacy sings the song with such attitude and power.

6.) Toughen Up: Another cool, upbeat song (like "Coming Alive").

7.) Together: Luv this song. It's got that great mix of 80's pop & R&B music and fun to sing along to.

8.) I Thought it Took A Little Time: I love Stacy's cover of Diana Ross' "I Thought it Took A Little Time (But Today I Fell in Love)" despite Stacy's version is a little different than Diana's.

If you are a die-hard Stacy Lattisaw fan, you will enjoy her rare, hard to find 1985 album now released on cd. (Maybe her 1986 album, "Take Me All The Way" will be released sometime in the near future.)

Enjoy!!"
Brilliant LP, Thank Wounded Bird Records!

"So glad I could put my vynal LP to rest. This is an under rated LP that contained the one off title single; which sadly only reached #52 on the R&B charts (circa. 1985). Contains quite a few gems. Miss Lattisaw herself reflected about this LP in 1998 and stated (the LP) "was a bunch Whitney Houston rejects." Not true."
