CD Reviews

Totally Awesome Rock CD
AGI | Tampa, FL USA | 08/26/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is one of those rare "6 Star" CDs that only the lucky few ever even find. I have been progressing from run-of-the-mill "Rock & Roll" since I "discovered" Dream Theater about a year ago (only eighteen years late). Before then, I was certain that Aerosmith & Led Zep & Black Sabbath & Deep Purple & Van Halen, etc represented the best "rock" music on the planet. After being blown away by Dream Theater, I began tracking down "other" groups by reading DT reviews on Amazon, and "discovered" various prog groups, eventually getting hooked on such non-commercial groups as Sonata Arctica (consistently the best), Brainstorm, Kamelot, Symphorce, Stratovarious, etc, which I now KNOW represents the best "rock" music on the planet. If you like any of the foregoing groups, and can handle "heavy guitar" metal with driving double bass and first class keyboards, bass and vocals, take the time to "discover" Space Odyssey's "Embrace The Galaxy" and you will totally wear out the CD before you get tired of the music. Totally Awesome Rock CD. If you agree, do what I did and buy a couple of extra to give to special friends, because the music world would be a far better place with less of "former" groups and more of the "latter" groups. Long live rock.

Great vocals!!

"This is a great record, sure it doesn't match some of mr. Anderssons other works like the first "Time Requiem" record. (With the incredible instrumental masterpiece "Brutal Mentor" as a highlight!)

But Patrik Johansson, what a singer!! He sounds like he's having golfballs in his mouth and it sounds so good!

If you're a fan of Tony Martin in Sabbath or if you're into golf, you should buy this record! It's great! Neoclassical metal rules!"
Great as always

"I have to say Richard Andersson is an incredible keyboarder. I really like the CD. The vocalist is awesome. He has a distinct voice and it sounds different. The arrnagements of the songs are really worth listening to. "A Perfect Day" is an awesome tune. Very melodramatic. He did a great job. One thing I always find with Richard Andersson. He is so close to Yngwie Malmsteen. So if you love Yngwie you have to have this album. Also there is one song on there that totally reminds of a Symphony X song. Great work though. I love the CD."
