CD Reviews

3 of the finest soul musicians that hardly anyone knows

"Darrell Banks hit the Top 40 once with the classic "Open The Door To Your Heart", and J. J. Barnes had minor success with "Now That I Got You Back" and a few others, and Steve Mancha's "Don't Make Me A Storyteller" was an r & b success. All three artists are great examples of pure late-sixties soul.
Although Banks' big hit is not here [it was recorded for a different label], the 25 tracks represented would please a novice soul collector as well as a more advanced one.
Recommended without reservation !!"

"I brought this cd for just one song. Steve Mancha's "I Don't Wanna Lose You". I liked that more than his hit "Don't Make Me A Story Teller". I wore that 45 out. I lost it and I have seen it on Ebay but I will not pay a lot of money for that single, so I figured if I get this CD it is a invenstment. I like the songs on here because of that Detroit sound. Even though Darrel Banks "Open The Door To Your Heart" is not on here, it's worthy buying. If you just love to collect R&B (Rare) get this. It's pretty good, and you won't be mad that you did. I do remember back in the 60's where I thought JJ Jackson was Marvin Gaye."
