Mosaic brought out a Box-Set including these items, but this sampler, running for some 75 Minutes gives an excellent taste of this 'West Coast' group. Previously recorded by Norman Granz and his Verve Empire!"

"I had Buddy DeFranco sign the jacket for this CD a couple of years ago. He lamented on the fact these recordings are out of print in the United States and said he had tried unsuccessfully to purchase the masters so he could reissue them. He concluded our conversation with a sad judgment about the fickle state of the recording industry: "They'll probably wait until I'm dead to reissue them." I told him, "If that's true, then I'm willing to wait for a long time." In the meantime, enjoy this compilation of the recordings Buddy DeFranco made with the underrated pianist Sonny Clark, who died much too young. The sound is in clean mono, which is all you can expect from these early 1950s recordings."
