The Best Slavonic Dances...Period !

"If you are as charmed and exhilarated by this music as I am, then it might not necessary to look beyond Talich's sensitive, colorful and rousing performances. While George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra on Sony offer fine fare, Talich and his fabled Czech Philharmonic are special. And, if you think that because it's in stereo, the Szell/Sony version automatically gives you better sound than the mono Talich, you've got another listen coming. Recorded originally in the 1950s on Urania, then sent onto Parliament and finally presented here on Supraphon, this disc boasts fuller, richer sound against a quieter background. And, it all sounds more musical than the Sony. 'Nuff said. Buy the Talich, sit back and enjoy the sounds of this gifted and wonderful composer."
