"This sounded awfully familiar when I first heard it, and it's likely that you'll find it familiar too.Shchedrin is fairly contemporary, but not too far gone. The harmonies are amazing.As for the recording itself, it's clear, with individual sections clearly distinguishable (especially the brass). The orchestra feels a bit shaky on the first track, but they firm up quickly.Recommended."
