Amazing EP
John O'Donahue | Belmont, NC | 04/15/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've heard a lot of music in my day, and I must say that the guys of Sharks Keep Moving really put a different take on it... at least while they were a band. The group split shortly after this release, but P&C is one to not be forgotten. The first song "Tied to the Tracks" opens with some insane drumming from Jay Clark (Pretty Girls Make Graves) and Emo-esque lyrics from Jake Snider (Minus the Bear,Onalaska, State Route 522). This is my personal favorite off of the album simply because of the "insane drumming" and lyrics listed above. The next song, "Like a River" doesn't fail to please either. Clocking in at 11min 16sec, it takes up much of the album, but still leaves the listener asking for more. It begins slow, and almost sounds as if the first 2 minutes are the group warming up in the studio, but builds up into a nice little indie ballad about meeting a girl at a club/bar. The final song "Pause & Clause", is entirely instrumental, but nonetheless amazing. Jay Clark again comes through with some very technical drumming, and the rest of the band show their ever evolving talent to write great music. Sadly, this was the last release by SKM. If you are thinking about purchasing this EP, please do! Its great for anyone who loves indie, jazz, prog, or just overall good music. Its hard to find, but totally worth it."
