CD Reviews

SW fans take notice - this is their best album!

"In general there are two types of Screeching Weasel Fans: The ones who think "My Brain Hurts" is their best CD and the ones who think "Boogoda Boogada Boogada" is their best CD. Those who choose MBH appreciate awesome pop-punk music. Those who pick Boogada are people who like SW, but want to make it seem like they were into SW when they were unknown...maybe to add to their "punk credibility." Boogada has a few great songs and a lot of throwaways. MBH is one of the best pop punk cds ever released by any band. However, this one is better! All of the songs are great and with the exception of Johnny are You Queer (a cover) and Surf Goddess, these songs are fast and loud. This flow of this CD is also amazing and every song is placed in the perfect spot.At the time this was released it was believed that this was the last SW cd. The guys were sick of each other (thats why Green Day Mike was on this cd) and Ben was probably beginning work on the Riverdales (which was just SW minus Jughead). At the time I thought this was perfect ending to this band. SW came back and released some good albums and one terrible one (Emo), but in my opinion, this was the band at their peak."
