CD Reviews

A rewarding album!

"The presence of Alain Planes in the piano and this formidable cellist Lluis Claret make of this CD a real majuscule finding.

To begin with, we are in presence of a memorable version of the "Arpeggione" Sonata, played with refined phrasing, interpretative freshness, impressive fingering, radiant lyricism and inspiring performances.

In what concerns to Mendelssohn's Cello Sonatas, both of them are played with exuberant cheerfulness and radiant majesty. Every musical phrase has been shaped with exquisite good taste and winged musicality.

Mention apart deserves the performance of the First Sonata and the impressive level of the second movement of the second one.

A true state of art, sumptuously recorded, with outstanding sound.
