CD ReviewsSandi Flashback Staysun | Downers Grove, IL USA | 03/08/2008 (3 out of 5 stars) "Budget 2008 reissue of several Sandi tracks (1981-1995) from the Word catalog on the Flashback label. No Sandi photos or liner notes but it does contain a brief affirming Sandi bio. This "We Shall Behold Him" is the first album version of her signature song (with Sandi somewhat tentative on the soaring vocal) on the 1981 "Love Overflowing" album. "How Majestic is Your Name" is from "Lift Up the Lord" which does not contain the high-note ending. A great inclusion is Sandi's brilliant track from the 1995 "My Utmost for His Highest" compilation album titled "God of All of Me" - one Sandi's very best songs. There is nothing new for the long-time Sandi collector and the tracks do not appear to have been remastered. Songs for the Journey" Another cudo for Ms. Patty H. Thomas Clift | Jefferson, Texas, USA | 03/23/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "Once again Sandi Patty has produced a great CD. Many of the songs have been produced in other CD's of hers, and I don't mind that a bit. But, tucked right in the middle of this album, is a new (to me) song that resonates in me emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. "God Of All Of Me" is one of the finest and most important songs she has yet to record.
Once again, Sandi Patty has given us a song that allows us a little insight into her struggles on her journey that were real and most painful to her, but from which she emerged stronger and with greater faith and resolve. Thank you, Sandi, for this beautiful song." |
