CD Reviews

Awesome music

(5 out of 5 stars)

"The album is brilliant. I wasn't expecting much, but it simply blew me away. Intense, complex, melodic, but at the same time: heavy with many slow, dynamic sections. A lot of variety. One song does not tell the whole story."
Do yourself a favor and pick this up!

"Who says good black metal can't come from the states? Sanctus WILL prove you wrong if you think extreme music never has come out of Long Beach, California - and yes, they're just a little bit more intense and dynamic than Sublime. The truth of the matter is, Sanctus is the future of where extreme music is going. They're not just a metal band - they play a much deeper form of complex orchestrations that will leave you wondering how in the world you haven't heard of them yet. "Odyssey" is the best example of this - Jason's voice roars nicely above Adrian's keyboards, which sound absolutely beautiful, Royce and Mike's guitars are right in sync, Mike C's drumming is ultra-precise, and Brent's bass booms under it all, giving not only this song but the whole album a booming thunderclap of a sound. You think Cannibal Corpse is heavy? Sanctus makes them look boring after ONE album! I just can't even think about what the next album's going to do to the face of modern metal! No song on Aeon Sky is EVER boring and always interesting! Well, just a quick shout to my friends in the band - you all have done a great job to get where you are today, and Aeon Sky is a true testament to all you've accomplished so far. I commend you all on your work, and Adrian - thanks for being a great friend this past year - I'll be back down soon. Good luck at your show on saturday, I wish I could make it down there :( Anyway, I'll talk to you all soon - stay true -Cheers, Mike aka Nightmare"

"This album is hot. The only way to realize it is to hear it yourself. Nevermind Alex Preston below. He still listens to Winger and actually likes the new Metallica."
