Sciarrino uses sound as a living organism--his music begins at the very limits of perception where silence emerges into sound. Recordings of these works for piano with Nicolas Hodges were made in the presence of the composer. Hodges is one of the leading contemporary music international pianists. He premiered Elliot Carter's Dialogues with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
