BEYOND DROP DEAD GORGEOUS

"Stepping Off the Edge: Learning & Living Spiritual Practice I've been a Bill Miller fan since the late 1990s, when his music knocked me over in a Western store near my hometown. Bill's won a couple of Grammys and a ton of other awards since then, becoming a much better known performer. So many things to like about his work: It's elegant, sophisticated, moving, deep, full of meaning, and absolutely gorgeous. This CD, done in collaboration with Sacred Earth, is all of that. Wind of the West beautifully illustrates how contemporary music by Native Americans can be. This is 100% American Indian, and yet it has echoes of indigenous cultures worldwide. Bill's vocals will blow your mind. I don't think I've ever heard his voice displayed so well. The instrumentation is haunting, complex, and sophisticated. I have friends who play primarily Eastern instruments--tablas, didjeredoos, a variety of flutes and other drums. This reminded me of their work. It's also meditative. I've meditated for many years, and this album took me to my finest times in the meditation hall. It's elevating and inspiring. Many thanks, Bill! Many thanks, Sacred Earth."

"It's Bill Miller what more should I say? He makes his own instruments. Writes his own music and puts down his own words. His melodies become more complex with each album. Yet always he hands you a cord, a thread, attaching you to his boat as he literally travels along his way down a river with dramatic turnings and twists. His range of voice lifts and carries, falls and flows as if he stood in the wind himself translating it to you...Bill has not stopped developing nor ceased in gaining the admiration of his peers for the integrity and growth found in his music and his art. Buy his other iconic albums also, he is in a word, " an adventure"."
