CD Reviews

Rydin Ruff, But Still Rydin
John Fowler | Columbia, SC USA | 12/30/2001
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Ruff Ryders: Ryde or Die Vol. 1 was definetly a seller when it hit and made the names DMX, The Lox, Eve, Drag-On, and other fellow Ruff Ryders known by all rap listeners. Vol. 2 came along and many put the album down from it's lack of worthy beats and rhymes. Then comes Vol. 3....no one knew what to expect. It turned out to be a very well done album.Several new artists are brought to the table in 'Ryde or Die, Vol. 3,' including 2 new artists on DMX's Bloodline Records, Infa-Red and Cross. Other fellow Def Jam artists, Ludacris and Fiend, also make their appearances on the album. A great track on the album is 'Keep Hustlin' from the LOX. It is great to hear Jadakiss back with the boys who started the statement 'money, power, respect, all you need in life.' Compliments to Drag-On and Petey Pablo for making 'Dirrty' an unexpectedly tight track. For potential buyers, it depends on how long you have stuck with Ruff Ryders or if you have just started listening to them. For long fans of DMX and the RR crew, this is definetly one to add to your collection. It is a change from the usual we expect from Ruff Ryders, but it is worth a listen and, believe me, you can bump this in your ride, it hits hard. For new listeners of Ruff Ryders, I would download a track or two to see if you think it's a good buy for you.Double-R ain't goin nowhere. And this album proves the longevity of DMX, Eve, Jadakiss/LOX, and the other Ruff Ryders."
DO NOT BUY

"This is just horrible. what the hell happened. dont pay attention to those that say this is a great album. it is horrible, i cant stress it enough. and i only gave it one star because you have to give at least one. IT DESERVES NEGATIVES FOR BEING A WASTE OF MY TIME"
Pretty Good Album.

"This album is pretty good. My favourite songs are "They Ain't Ready", "U, Me & She", "Eastside Ryders", "We Don't Give A F**k", "Street Team" & "Friend Of Mine". I also like the "Intro", because it sounds cool. There are quite a lot of weaker tracks, but all round it's probably worth getting."
