The best classical album I have found for the concert zither

"The concert zither was a very popular instrument during the 19th century and has a substantial classical repertoire as well as being a traditional folk instrument in central Europe. It is a beautiful and versatile instrument which deserves to be better known today. It looks like a cross between a guitar and a small harp and sounds like a pedal harpsichord but with the expressive capabilities of a guitar. I don't know that Rudi Knabl is truly a virtuoso but he is a very competent performer and this album is the best example I have found to date of the concert zither in its classical mode. It is a good recording technically; you need a pretty good sound system to fully reproduce the bass notes on these things. To hear it in its folk music mode, check out the available recordings of Anton Karas.
