CD Reviews

Good but disappointing.....

"I purchased this cd hoping for original versions of the songs. They have been re-recorded and NO mention of this is anywhere on the cd. I purchased this for basically one song "My uncle used to love me but she died"- the only other set this song is on is the Box Set "King of The Road". The sound quality is good and it's got all the hits...but just not the versions from the 60's. So if you want the originals don't look to this one. If you're already a fan and want slightly different versions and good photos..pick it up and enjoy."

"As mentioned in the last review this CD contains newly recorded version of the songs. Very nice sound, but ultimatly dissapointing. It's too bad there is such a lack of Roger Miller titles available. There are many, many packages featuring the same songs, but no different material with the exception of the boxed set and this CD. The one song on this CD that isn't on the boxed set is Billy Bayou (at least I don't see it listed in). But there are songs that aren't available on the other hits packages. It's just too bad they are watered down rercordings. Roger Miller is such a unique and wonderful talent, he deserves a re-release of his studio albums. Hint, hint."
