Delightful little gem

"This was awarded a Diapason d'Or when it came out and it's not difficult to see why. Delightful sound, great performance by the Ysaye Quartet. Even though most reviewers ultimately seem to prefer the Zehetmair Quartet's recording to this one, in my opinion this is the real reference recording of these too often neglected works. This is because the Ysaye recording features all three quartets (the Zehetmair has only two), and because it has a very moving, authentic quality to it without neglecting Schumann's sometimes odd modernity."
