"I won't go into any detail regarding the music on this set, as anyone reading this already knows it's all exemplary country blues. I personally already owned Robert Johnson's and Bukka White's complete pre-war recordings but picked up this set in order to get all of the other material. When the package arrived I was blown away to discover how much effort went into presenting these artists' music in such a classy way: beautiful exterior packaging, a gorgeous booklet with expertly written and highly detailed liner notes, each disc housed in its own attractive cardboard sleeve within the box and excellent fidelity given the age and condition of available source recordings. While many will already have the Johnson and White material, the remaining music is well worth owning and often fantastic! To get it all in one place--the COMPLETE pre-war recordings of each featured artist (only Robert Lockwood's material was recorded post-war and those sides are hard to come by elsewhere)--is an extraordinary value. Amazon is currently selling this set for $52 but I was able to get mine from a reputable Marketplace seller for $20 plus shipping. Where else can you get these outstanding blues recordings for roughly $4 per disc? But you'd better hurry, as the UK-based manufacturer of the set no longer has the box in their on-line catalog, so it may be out of print as of this writing and will soon command ridiculous prices. Bring it on home!"
