Gordon Emerged in the Late 70's New Wave Along with Blondie, Talking Heads, the Ramones and Television as Part of the Premier Music Scene in the USA the Flavour of his Music is Definitely Rockabilly, but Instead of Being a Caricature, Gordon was True Blue. Along with Producer Richard Gottherer, He Hooked Up with Legend Link Wray to Present Some of the Most Exciting Shows of the Era. The Single of "Red Hot" Became a Popular Favorite Across the Country and Even Bruce Springsteen Became a Fan, Giving Him the Song "Fire" to Record (But the Pointer Sisters Would Take it to the Top of the Pop Charts). CD Reviews

Rockabilly Must Have!
Ray Webb | Tulsa, OK | 02/23/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Not much origional material here..Robert covers the rockabilly classics with his own spin. Great guitar work from Link Wray, and also a cut or two with the legendary Danny Gatton on lead guitar! (make sure you read the liner notes!) This album is a must have for rockabilly fans!"

A Link to history!
Robert S. Estes | Santa Rosa, Ca | 03/21/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Robert Gordon had the haircut, the attitude, the sensibility of emerging mid/late 70's punk. Xcept he sang as if interpreting the Rosetta Stone of Rock and Roll. He sang Sun records, Rockabilly, Country, like he lived loved it. Purists sniffed and said, "Oh just a pretender" Even with legendary guitarist Link Wray at the helm!

The truth is that Robert had a better, more evocative voice than the classic rockabilly/R n R, Soul, artists that he had covered. Listen to "Red Hot", compare..

Robert Gordon is a treasure and listening to this CD is like riding top down a red Cadillac wearing black slacks a gum snappin' girl on the bench seat and a middle finger to the world grinnin' all the way
