Synopsis

Product Description
Grammy Award-winner and long-time fan fave Springfield introduces his music to a new generation with this, a new collection of beautiful, original lullabies that'll bring sweet dreams to children nationwide. Springfield wrote these songs for his two sons during the heady days of early fatherhood when the boys had trouble sleeping. His children are now in their early twenties and Springfield rediscovered the songs last year, tucked away in a drawer. Ten gentle tunes that will soothe and relax all who listen.

CD Reviews

Such relaxing music - and great for all ages!

"My whole family has been loving this CD, and I don't even have very young children anymore (ages 5 and 9). The 9 year old likes to have this CD play as background music while he does homework and as he's winding down for bed. My 5 year old always is listening to music, and it's great to have this CD as an option to help him calm down. My kids are too old for traditional lullabies, but they'll listen to these songs happily. They're contemporary enough to be OK in their eyes, yet they're very soothing at the same time. As an adult, I'm also enjoying them. They help me relax!"
Definitely perfect for his new generation of fans

"If you had told me when I was 13, and listening to Rick Springfield sing about "sweatin' and screamin' and tearin' out his heart," while I screamed maniacally from the nosebleed section, that one day I would use an album of his personal lullabies to soothe my own wee daughter to sleep, I would have stared at you in jaw dropping shock. However, now that I am "all grown up" and still have a very special place in my heart and soul for Mr. Springfield and his melodies, it tickles me to have this precious collection of songs to play for her. Tonight when I tucked her in, she chose this one over her other favorites, (The Wiggles and the Biscuit Brothers.) Believe me, I had nothing to do with swaying her, the girl has a mind of her own. In any case, the songs are at once intimate and sentimental and just right for my little Eleanor. (Who was not named for the Zoot cover of Eleanor Rigby). And she drifted peacefully off to slumber, without keeping the sandman waiting, and that, after all is the point. If Mom gets a little thrill out of the fact that the songs come from her old flame, so much the better. Although her daddy says that these are the only Rick Springfield songs she'll be allowed to listen to until she's 18. Daddy doesn't like that line about "this angel's gonna spread her wings tonight." Come to think of it, my daddy never liked that line either. This is a great collection, very delicate and sweet, the gentle, softer side of Rick. Enjoy."
Wonderful,

"I have been a Rick Springfield fan since 1983 so maybe im a little biased but these songs are so beautiful and relaxing. The songs are as much for adults as they are for children. The title song brought tears to my eyes remembering watching my newborn son sleeping. The others are so well written and arranged. Matt Bissonettes backround vocals swirl around the songs and fit like a glove to Ricks awesome lead. Im past the time to be having any more children but too early for grandchildren but I will recommend this cd to all my younger friends who are becoming mothers and fathers. I wish I had this cd when my son was born. I could have related so much better than Barney."
