The Original "Beautiful Feelings"
Power Popper | Kansas City | 11/25/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A nice aural glimpse into the original recordings that later became the LP "Beautiful Feelings". Apparently this is more the way Mr. Springthorpe intended these songs to sound, not being pre-informed or involved in the re-workings of the 1984 Mercury release. Rick is always entertaining, and keeps progressing with his craft. He cannot be shoved aside as a lightweight or teenybopper any longer, for he is proving his staying power among recording artists that just keep rolling with the ever-changing tides of taste. Although not a definitive collection, it is a must for a real fan, and fun to compare with the re-worked rhythm tracks of the later release."
THIS ALBUM SHOULD'VE BEEN RELEASED IN 1977 / 78 !!!
D. Rockwood | south georgia | 11/14/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Why Rick Springfield could'nt find a record label to release this little gem is a mystery to me.

This album is just as good as anything that was released or on the airwaves back in 1977 / 78.

'Looking For The One",,"The Solitary One",,"Still Got The Magic" all could've been singles off this album. "Spanish Eyes" seems to be the original version (music & melody) to 1982's "Don't Talk To Strangers".

I actually prefer Springfield's 1976 release on Chelsea Records, "Wait For Night",which in my opinion is his most mature & strongest album ever (hopefully it will also be out on cd someday)but,if this album had ever came out in 1977 / 78,I would've bought it on the strength of the "Wait For Night" album.
