As well as his solo career, he also formed the hard rock band DERRINGER and played with both JOHNNY WINTER and EDGAR WINTER. He has also worked with a variety of artists as a producer including KISS and MEATLOAF.

"Rick Derringer had all the style and flair of any 70's rock icon, but despite his lesser popularity in later years I am so happy that now some of his greatest work, Rock and Roll "Hoo/Koo" aside, is now available on CD for all the loyal fans from days gone by. Twenty songs that include diamonds like Sleepless and the fanatical song called lets make it are just some of the ones on here. Twenty songs, All Derringer with a low price now how can you beat that? You can't, and I am surprised more Derringer fans are not reviewing this fine, fine collection called single A's and B's by Rick Derringer."
