CD Reviews

A "Must Have"
Samuel Garcia | San Diego, CA | 03/07/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I originally heard this as a "vinyl" Long Play (LP) Album borrowed from my brother-in-law soon after it's original release date. I couldn't part with it and never gave it back! Then there was a flood in my home and the album was destroyed. I looked for it for years but it was not available. Imagine my joy to discover it was re-released in CD format! These four legends are amazingly inspired. Papo, the keyboardist, is a master at Salsa as well as Jazz. He also appears in another superb recording with Ruben Blades on Bohemio y Poeta [Original Compilation Remastered] also a "must have"."
Old school salsa

"What else could you ask for? The best salsa from the 70's and 80's is the best salsa period. You have Johnny Pacheco and Celia Cruz ("azúca")and to that you add Papo Lucca and Mr. Justo Betancourt ("Prrrrr"). Enough said. Buy it, listen to it and you will see I am right."
Absolutely Electric

"An incredible, electric, dynamic ,knock-your-socks performance. From start to finish, this album is sheer delight. To me, it embodies why Fania reigned supreme for so many years; they KNEW how to do it! No use lamenting why so much of today's salsa fails to electrify like this production. Simply grab a copy and enjoy. It is a hands down, top notch album that is GUARANTEED to have you in a Salsa Frenzy!!!"
