"Spanning "only" Ray Brown's Concord years, this CD gives a great look at the master of the upright bass. I started listening to Ray in the mid-70s when he was in the L. A. Four. As I explored acoustic jazz, Ray Brown continued to be there as a leader, as a member of a group, and as a sideman, on the best jazz albums I could find.

Well, here you get a sampler from a quarter century (or there-abouts) of the best accoustic jazz ever made, on tunes that show Ray Brown's mastery of his instrument."
