"... I never expected the performance to sing like one -- or like 88 larks accompanied by an orchestra that could easily sub for Philadelphia. What a happy find this is -- along with the Liszt, which is not your usual companion piece for the Rachmaninov 3rd.This label bears watching. I have bought several other recordings since this one -- all very satisfying, unless staring at Big Brand names on the jewel case is what turns you on. At these prices -- or 2 to 3 times these prices -- the music can't be beat."

"The 3rd Piano Concerto by Rachmaninoff is by far my favorite composition for the piano. As a student I have studied, though never performed, this piece and know it inside and out. This recording is absolutely marvelous by every stretch of the imagination. Orlovetsky plays the Concerto brilliantly and vibrantly: from the Ossia in the first movement...to the deeply moving Meno mosso in the second movement...to the glorious beginning of the third movement...Orlovetsky's performance is amazing and unparalleled. The rendition blows away the likes of Horowitz, Bronfman, Lang Lang, and Margaret Argerich: listen for yourself and you will understand the reason for my high acclaim. If you are looking for one copy, and one copy only of this Concerto...this is the one."
