CD Reviews

Quetzal is a hidden phenomenon of music.
Clifford Lynn | Mayfield Village, OH United States | 03/18/2005

"It is now 2005 and I finally heard the first quetzal cd. It's not as catchy or as infectious as 'Sing the Real' or 'Worksongs'(obvious evolution in the music since their debut) but it is still a great cd. Quetzal is just getting better and better, and I am looking forward to their next release. The use of the violin, quatro guitar, jarana, and other instruments are utilized perfectly. Lovely vocals from the Gonzales brother, and sister!"
Completly moving

"The music of Quetzal is moving and emotional, even if you're not of latin decent. Their talent is beyond belief. Musicianship like this is VERY hard to find. I saw them live a couple of years ago in San Jose and was blown away! There was so much energy in the room and a feeling of companionship with the band. There is no doubt any real music lover should have this in their CD collection..."
Quetzal kicks it--live and on cd

"oooh, i saw this band while in la for a short trip, and they were awesome! i dropped my last $10 on their cd, and i wasn't disappointed. if i had any gripe at all, i would say that the cd sounds a bit too produced, but their talent definitely comes shining through. "politics y amor" is an amazing song, with lyrics and music blending to create a concept that has probably rolled around in my brainpan, but never been articulated so well. "amanecer" is like a natural high. "grito de alegria" is just that. this band really has a knack for creating perfect music to go along with the mood that the lyrics create. excellent album altogether. spend your last ten bucks on it too."
