"This is a nice recording. It is well played and has some interesting pieces. The transcriptions of the overtures are from Purcell's time. I bought this cd specifically because of the transcription of the overture from "King Arthur." I love this overture and wanted to hear what it would sound like on the harpsichord.

I must admit, though, that the playing is a little lackluster. There is nothing wrong with it, but it could have been made a little more interesting with some artful decorations or the use of different musical devices. As it is the playing is pretty straightforward. Use of stops, changes in register, heightening of tension are all pretty much absent. There is a certain amount of decoration and art, but not enough to really make the recording exceptional. The harpsichord is a good one with a deep bass. As for the transcriptions, I have to say that while I enjoy the transcription of the overture from "King Arthur," it is a bit thin.

Still, I do overall recommend this recording as it has a number of interesting pieces and has pretty solid playing and a good sound."
